Was tenderly nibbled by the picnic plot bunny... @ 04:25 pm
Characters: Glitch/Cain Fandom: Tin Man Rating: G Disclaimer: Not my characters. Word Count: 100 Glitch had lost his taste for palace fare, for small delicacies on triangles of toast, for paper-thin pastries, for century old wine. This was food. Ham sandwiches and lemonade and an enormous slice of cake for dessert with its frosting stuck to the sides of the bowl. The kind of food that made you sleepy, that made you lie back on the blanket and feel the grass buckling beneath it. “Thanks for bringing me out here,” he murmured, eyes closing, lulled by birds. “No problem,” Cain drawled calmly. “You looked like you needed to get away for a few hours.”

Striped @ 10:53 pm
100 word drabble, disclaimer: not mine, more in the wonders never cease ouevre. ~*~ Cain had never been so happy to see the palace. Four months on the road away from Ambrose had been three months thirty days too long. Ambrose came bounding down the steps to meet him. After a fierce hug, Cain pushed him away to look at him. The doctors had said hair would never grow down the center of Ambrose’s scalp, but they had been wrong. “Your hair!” he exclaimed. “I know, it came in white!” Ambrose sounded distressed. “It’s sexy!” “I look like a skunk!” Cain laughed and pulled his lover close. “You look like a dream to me.”

Drabble: @ 10:50 am
To cheer myself up, I wrote a silly little sequel to yesterday’s drabble Wonders Never Cease because I had this whole elaborate scene in my head of Ambrose’s crazy workshop and his new look, which I couldn’t fit into the first part. Also, it's another venture into dialogue only. Disclaimer: not mine, etc.etc, glitch/cain, big surprise, etc etc. ( 100 words on the nose. )

Drabble: Wonders Never Cease @ 03:56 pm
Disclaimer: None of these characters are mine. Written for: demilos_wagonTitle: Wonders Never Cease Pairing: Glitch/Cain Prompt: Magic Rating: G Word Count: 100 Cain doesn’t know what the thing is for, and he doesn’t want to know. Ambrose is next to the enormous telescope, directing workers around like a symphony conductor and since he looks happy, Cain is happy. As the great dais wheels slowly around, Ambrose spots him and his face lights up, and Cain feels that little glow inside that says ‘I’m home’. He still can’t quite get used to it, doesn’t think he ever will entirely. As Ambrose comes down the steps and drops into his arms, he thinks there’s not one of these machines more magical than its inventor.

First Class @ 08:25 pm
Disclaimer: None of these characters are mine. Written for demilos_wagon (Go check it out! It's new!) Title: First Class Pairing: imminent Glitch/Cain Fandom: Tin Man Prompt: Transportation Rating: G Word Count: 100 The carriage had been rattling along for hours now, and Cain was bored. Glitch had been asleep on his shoulder for ages, lulled by a combination of rhythmic hoof beats, rocking seats, and the summer heat. He couldn’t quite bring himself to resent the lack of conversation, though, not when Glitch looked so peaceful, head nodding against Cain’s chest with every bump in the road. Cain found himself sliding an arm around him, cautiously, purely in the interest of keeping his arm from falling asleep. Glitch sighed and curled closer, and Cain decided he didn’t mind traveling coach after all.

Three Hundred Ninety Two Words of Conversation on a Starry Night @ 09:06 pm
Disclaimer: None of these characters are mine. Title: Three Hundred Ninety Two Words of Conversation on a Starry Night Rating: G Gen Fandom: Tin Man Word Count: 392 ;) A/N: I was going to sketch in the dialogue then fill it out with the text, but then I thought the conversation had a certain odd charm just on its own. It’s still followable as to who’s saying what, I think. ( Mother, will you tell me a story? )

Key Lime Pie @ 01:15 pm
2 egg yolks (only the yolks!) 2 14-oz. cans sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup key lime juice 9-10" ready-to-eat graham cracker crust Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Pour milk into large bowl. In another bowl beat the egg yolks with a hand-mixer until thick and light in color. Pour them into the milk. Add the lime juice. Mix until blended. Pour into a 9 x 12" glass baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes. (mixture will be bubbling a bit at the edges) Put mixture into crust (a spatula's helpful here) and refrigerate, let chill for at least several hours before serving.
